Consultation (60-minute session): At our initial meeting, we will ask you to tell us about your child’s strengths and struggles. We want to know what support your child has received, is receiving, and still needs. We ask lots of questions to understand where your child is in the special education process so we can assess what options are possible for further support. We will answer your questions and advise you on next steps. A consultation meeting can be a stand-alone service, or can be the first step in preparing for a school meeting.

The IEP or 504 Plan documents are the roadmap to address your child’s educational needs. It is essential that these documents, as well as any private evaluations, therapy reports, school evaluations, progress reports, report cards, standardized testing or any other relevant reports are reviewed for the advocate to develop a robust understanding of your child. We will determine whether the school is providing the individual services and supports your child needs to be successful at school and beyond. We will recommend changes and develop strategies to prepare for your school meetings. Reviewing records is often the most time-intensive service, but it is essential in our ability to represent your concerns effectively
-
CASE Advocates will help you prepare for your child’s IEP or 504 meeting. After reviewing the records and school documents, we will advise you on the best strategy for your school meeting and help create an agenda and take note of all parent concerns.
-
CASE Advocates frequently attend IEP and 504 meetings with their clients. We advocate for your child to find the right balance of support and independence so your child can progress academically and grow emotionally. We also keep track of what we accomplish at school meetings to ensure that the final document protecting your child’s rights is complete and accurate.
-
We will work with you to build a long-term, collaborative strategy to support your child’s education. We can communicate with the school on your behalf and talk with private providers about school issues.
